Everyday Detox

I recently read the cook book Everyday Detox by Megan Gilmore. I was very happy I grabbed this book it gives you all the information you could ever want to improve your gut laying out how you should eat foods for better digestion, like eating animal protein with non-starchy veggies and then waiting 3-4 hours before switching categories.

In chapter 1 it explains how to detox and why eating this way is good for you. Its wrote in a way that even I could understand. It gives you a chart explaining each category and how to eat them, a seven day jumpstart menu, shopping plan.

Chapter 2 explains what and why you should have in your pantry and helpful kitchen tools.

Chapter 3 starts the wonderful recipes with Liquid Nourishment.

Chapter 4 is Morning Favorites

Chapter 5 Salads, Dressings and Sides.

Chapter 6 Soups Sandwiches and Wraps

Chapter 7 Casseroles and Comfort Food

Chapter 8 Sweet Treats

Chapter 9 Back to Basics

All the recipes are so yummy and the pictures that accompany them are beautiful.

The Little Paris Bookshop review...

I just finished The Little Paris Bookshop.

It's about a bookseller (Perdu) that sells books to customers who are in need of something in their life, like medicine for an aliment. Like on page 16 his neighbor lady who just moved into his apartment who is going through a divorce, he told her he could get a book for her.
 "The consoling kind."
"I need to cry some more. I'll drown if I don't. Can you understand that?"
"Of course. Sometimes you're swimming in unswept tears and you'll go under if you store them up
inside." And I'm at the bottom of a sea of tears. "I'll bring you a book for crying then."

Page 27, Perdu reflects, that it is the common misconception that booksellers looked after books. They looked after people.
Page 30, "Books are more than doctors, of course. Some novels are loving, lifelong companions; some give you a clip around the ears; others are friends who wrap you in warm towels when you've got those autumn blues. And some...well, are pink candy floss that tingles your brain for three seconds and leaves a blissful void. Like a short, torrid love affair."

He finds himself stuck in his life that has become the bookstore (Literary Apothercary) on a barge in the Seine River. One day he finally had enough and set sail to the south of France with his neighbor Max Jordon. In a rash decision they left with no money and the clothes on their backs. The men are in search of love and a new lease on life. While on their journey they stop in many little towns selling books for produce, meat, etc to make things meet. In every town they they meet new friends,  about the towns. While in Cepoy, a little town that the people had been fighting for their homeland for centuries.
Page 119 "Here they work for the future, always for those who will come
after them. And then their descendants do the same. This land will be destroyed only if one generation stops thinking of the next and tries to change everything now."This quote hit me like a ton of books. As I think about where our generation has gone because we've stopped thinking of our future. Ok off my soap box and back to the book.

"All the love, all the dead, all the people we've known. They are the rivers that feed our sea of souls. If we refuse to remember them, the sea will dry up." Perdu

I really wanted to love this book. It started out strong but after several chapters I became bored with it. It was a little slow, the diary inserts that came out of no where, and to me seemed a little all over
the place killed the book for me. About half way I really wanted it to hurry up mad be finished and wishing that it would end but then the ending grabbed me. Made me tear up a bit. For the most part it
was alright. It has some of the best quotes I've read yet in a book.

My favorite quote from this book, "Books aren't eggs, you know. Simply because a book has aged a bit doesn't mean it's gone bad. What's wrong with old? Age isn't a disease. We all grow old, even books. But are you, is anyone, worth less, or less important, because they've been around longer?"

I'd give this book 3/5 stars mostly because of the quotes. If you like romance or finding yourself type books then please give this one a read.

Guitar lessons...

Hey y'all, I just wanted to share the music program we are using for homeschool. Levels for Guitar is awesome for anyone who wants to learn guitar. There is beginner and intermediate lessons. It teaches sight reading, music theory, chords, strumming, finger picking, scales, and much more. There are about 100 lessons in the beginner course. The videos are excellent quality. The price is pretty good as well beginner is $8 a month and intermediate is $9 a month both with 24/7 access. You can't get private sessions for that! Cadence and Kord are enjoying them and learning so much. I highly recommend them! Oh and bonus their customer service is great! Double bonus you can try them out for free! Go check them out! I have received this product for free for an honest review.

I fell in love....

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the weather was amazing for January. We were cooking out with the windows in the house wide open, which should give you an idea of how nice the weather was. We were sitting around visiting with friends when someone suggested a book that I should read. Being a VERY reluctant reader I didn't believe that it could be that good, so she let me borrow the book and I was unable to put it down! Monday, January 19th, 2015 is when I fell in love with reading! I have been reading everyday since.

My reading goal for the year was 20 books. I reached that goal so I decided to shoot for more and bumped it up to 50. I probably hadn't read 20 books in my entire life! I had always hated reading, and found myself falling asleep most times. I would read the same page a billion times and still couldn't tell what I had read. So I am very shocked and proud of myself for becoming a reader! Now I have decided to start posting my reviews on the books I've read. I will not be going into to much detail for now but in the future I plan to have more in depth reviews.

The first book I read which is the one that made me fall in love with reading was Marked by P.C. & Kristin Cast. The authors being from Tulsa, Ok and basing the book in and around Tulsa giving me details I myself could recall making the whole book series House of Night, (Marked being the 1st of the P.C. & Kristin Cast series) the series that captivated my attention. I'd give this book 5/5 🌟 and it gets my Bombshell approved stamp!

#2 Betrayed by P.C & Kristin Cast 5/5🌟
#3 Chosen by P.C & Kristin Cast 4/5🌟
#4 Untamed by P.C & Kristin Cast 4/5🌟
#5 Hunted by P.C & Kristin Cast 5/5🌟
#6 Tempted by P.C & Kristin Cast 4/5🌟

I had to take a break from House of Night while waiting on the library to order the others.

#7 The Fault in Our Stars by John Green 3/5🌟 I loved the movie! But to me the book was slow. It was still a good read but I won't re-read it. There are a lot in the reading community that love this book. I just couldn't get into it.

#8 Burned by P.C & Kristin Cast 3/5🌟
#9 Awakened P.C & Kristin Cast 3/5🌟

Again took a break to wait!

#10 Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James 4/5🌟
#11 Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James 4/5🌟
#12  Fifty Shades Freed by E.L. James 4/5🌟
Loved this trilogy! Definitely give it a recommend!

#13 Destined by P.C & Kristin Cast 4/5🌟

#14 Fallen by Lauren Kate 3/5🌟 there is a few more in the series that I haven't had a chance to read yet.

#15 A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest 4/5🌟 this is a big series I've read 3 books so far I've been told they get better so I'm holding out hope!

#16 That Night With My Best Friend's Brother by J.S. Cooper

#17  Falling For My Best Friend's Brother by J.S. Cooper 3/5🌟 these 2 go together so I rated them
together.

#18 Fancy White Trash by Marjetta Geerling 4/5🌟 My daughter found this one for me at the library after reading the 1st page I had to read it! This book is hilarious! I read some to my husband who also found it hilarious! I definitely recommend giving this one a read!

#19 Where The Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller 5/5🌟 this one gets the Bombshell stamp of approval! Highly recommend that you give this book a read! I read it in one night, I couldn't put it down!

#20 A Shade Of Blood (Book 2 in A Shade of Vampire series) by Bella Forrest 4/5🌟
#21 A Castle of Sand (Book 3 in A Shade of Vampire series) by Bella Forrest 4/5🌟

Finally back to House of Night Series! I got tired of waiting on the 10th book to come from the library so I read the cliff notes from other bloggers and found out there wasn't much to miss so I moved on.
#22 Revealed by P.C. & Kristin Cast (#11 of the HON series) 3/5🌟
#23 Redeemed by P.C. & Kristin Cast 3/5🌟 I couldn't be happier to be finished with this series! I loved it as a whole but after a book 6 it slowed down and dragged out with the exception of book 9. I was ready for it to end! I would still recommend the series because I thought it was good overall. Every book still had a good climax and cliff hangers wanting you to still know what happens next.

I hope this helps some of y'all reluctant readers find your next book to fall in love with!

Blessings,
Ashley
